Dad Walks
Join us, along with the angels, as we rejoice that Dad can now walk! Around 6:30 pm January 1, 2010 he peacefully went to see the face of his Savior. We wanted to create this site to keep people informed and also to give people a place to come and remember the amazing life of Bob Henningsen. We have an amazing story to tell of how God used Dad up until his last breath to bring others into His kingdom. Dad was the most willing vessel we have ever seen. Allowing his suffering to bring glory to his father. Dad was not a perfect man but he was a good man who served a great God!

Mom kept repeating a portion of a scripture while we were at the hospital.  "To live is Christ, to die is gain" So I looked it up and found that it was a profound scripture and we knew God had hand delivered that message to us to encourage us, build our faith and also serve as our mission statement as we battled for Dad's life. I called friends who immediately had the youth of our fellowship make a giant banner with the entire scripture on it to hang in Dad's room. It served as a constant reminder to us and also as a powerful testimony to everyone who entered his room.  After dad passed his doctor came to see us and give his condolences.  We had gone round and round with this doctor, trying to make him understand how we felt Dad should be treated. I knew this man was puzzled by us, but God wanted us to push through even if it went against what the doctors thought. Anyway, I told him thank you for all he did and then just asked him to please read the banner so he could understand what our goal was. I know seeds were planted in that man and many others.  So here is the scripture:
"Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.  I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.  For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."  Phillipians 1:19-21
